We have given up communicating about grocery shopping. To avoid heated arguments and the wrong items in the grocery bag, we shop separately. I buy what I want to eat and the critter food ( I don't eat meat and other stuff he loves), and he doesn't eat veggies and fruit.

We also annoy each other in the way we shop. Thirty four years of marriage and we cannot peacefully enter a grocery store together.
