We all need to eat to survive. Some of us are ignorant about the lives, feelings, or suffering of the animals we consume. Some of us are aware and don't care. Some of us strive to make the lives and death of these creatures more humane through laws. In nature, many creatures and birds eat each other to survive. A pile of feathers in the grass indicates a bird became a meal for another creature.
