Oh, yes. Whatever I am carrying is set down and pushed in the doorway to act as a barrier as I open it coming in. My cats do not want to go outside but they do want to access the basement where our parrots live. I cannot allow them downstairs as their hunting instincts might kick in. They would be afraid of the large parrots but not the parakeets or cockatiels. Our birds are not confined in individual cages.

We have 8 cats. Beds, couches and chairs are always occupied. We never sleep alone.
