My cats and parrots are rescues. The majority of the cats showed up in our yard hungry and full of ticks. Two were pregnant.

The birds were given away because they were messy, noisy, and needed too much attention. They came with all their expensive equipment.

It sickens me that people treat animals as disposable goods.

I am too old to rescue parrots these days but will continue to take in stray cats.
