Inbreeding generally causes health issues leading to a a shorter life. Often the health problems are not obvious as they affect internal organs.

Most of my baby birds were born through the mating of unrelated parents. Of the few born to mates who were related, several babies died around their third year of life. Others lived a normal life span of 15-20 years.

The fuckle hen is still with her son. I pull all their eggs.
