In the early morning after a snowfall, I love to follow the tracks of the critters who visited the yard while I was still asleep, lulled by the stillness. There are always raccoon paw prints, sometimes a possum, skunks, the ubiquitous squirrels, and wild turkeys. What I am looking for are cat paw prints. Are strays still coming to the yard for food? I always slide large bowls of cat kibble under my car every evening for them. The bowls are empty in the morning. I hope the cats, if they came, had some.
