I'm surprised that more Medium people are not reading this story. But then, too many people don't think about anything of substance or worry about stuff that’s difficult to wrap their minds around, especially if the word ‘tech’ is associated with it.

I believe it is a possibility that AI machines will achieve consciousness. Will it be rudimentary or more complex? I don’t know.

I’m in the plant and animal group that cedes them consciousness, an awareness of their connection to each other and their environment.
