I was checking out publications and stumbled across your story and I had to read as I watched my new neighbor remove most of the tall oaks and graceful birches on his property, trees I loved. I cried. He told me his insurance company demanded he remove them. I didn't believe him. Now his front and side yard visible to me contains massive tree stumps. The birds and other creatures have lost habitat and food sources because my neighbor did not want to take leaves.
