I no longer fuss, I accept the hard cold fact that my befuddled mate is not going to lower the toilet seat. Ever. He forgets so much these days that I forgive him for the many things I would yell about 30 years ago.

We are aging, so we keep our bathrooms lit at night to prevent falls, making it easy to see the state of the toilet lid and seat.
