I have learned not to bring up concerns during my annual exam, which is free. If I do, I will be charged for the exam. This boggles my mind. It seems if I have concerns about my health, I must make a separate appointment or get a referral to chat with a specialist. The annual exam is a rushed 10 minute quick check of my lungs, heart, ears and throat. Then out the door. If I do have an issue, the wait for an appointment may take months. It didn’t use to be this way.
