I am 81 with no children, no long-care insurance policy, physically active (exercise, yard work, house/animal care, and am content with my life. I do worry about being a burden to my nieces or nephews who have their parents to assist and do not need the addition of an ailing aunt. Hiring outside assistance will not be possible. Dying suddenly sitting in a chair sounds lovely to me, or in my sleep as my mother did.
