An emotional read. I have had to visit the emergency room many times in the past with cats who had chronic conditions that needed immediate help when their conditions flared up. One cat was a monthly visitor, everyone knew his name. Two years ago, I returned home with his empty carrier. There was no more that could be done and he was in distress. He was only seven, a stray I rescued when he was just a baby, but a baby born with issues that required an operation and constant care thereafter.
